Wild Weaving - A craft in nature weekend retreat

During this course, participants will learn the basic principles of hand-weaving whilst working with a variety of looms, from simple back-strap style looms, miniature card looms and your own hand made frame loom, crafted from natural materials found and foraged within the beautiful woodland at Ammerdown. Throughout the weekend, you will be encouraged to work intuitively with the materials that you are drawn to, and to gather inspiration from the surrounding landscape, its natural textures, colours and forms. Weather permitting, there will be some walking,

gathering, and art-making activities within the grounds and woodland area of Ammerdown, so please be prepared to spend time outdoors.

Jess Tanner is a multidisciplinary artist based near Bath who is passionate about promoting the immersive and therapeutic qualities of art and craft making. She is currently growing a small dye and medicine garden in Wiltshire and learning how to spin on an Ashford Traditional Spinning Wheel.

Led by: Jess Tanner

Please arrive by 6pm on Friday. Retreat ends with lunch on Sunday.
