Maggie Cross spent her childhood in Hong Kong, where she studied brush painting and also learnt to speak Cantonese and write Chinese
characters. She is a member of The Chinese Brush Painters’ Society and the Society of Floral Painters. She regularly exhibits her work and also frequently lectures and teaches on the subject. She has published three books.

Participants will be given a list of basic items to bring. Traditional brush painting materials will be available for loan or sale from the tutor. Maggie will also be here from the 18 to 23 November covering ‘Winter Landscapes’.
Summer Flowers with birds and insects

May is a glorious time of year for flowers and during this course you will have the opportunity to paint the more familiar western flowers as well as traditional Chinese ones, with the addition of a suitable bird or insect to complete your composition.
