Pompi says. “Bobbin lacemaking is fun, creative, and stimulating. Especially when like-minded students come together to extend their knowledge and learn new skills in a relaxed atmosphere. This course is suitable for students of all levels of experience including beginners.”
Pompi Parry has been teaching lacemaking for nearly 35 years but as she is constantly updating her own knowledge and experience, there is always something new to learn. Pompi teaches a wide range of traditional English, Continental and Contemporary laces as well as her two specialities of Polychrome Blonde, a silk Lace from Normandy and her local Wiltshire Downton Lace. (Please note that Honiton, Withof and Duchesse laces will not be taught). This week will also include displays relating to various aspects of lace, projects for Christmas and possibly a visit to a local textile-related exhibition. Students are welcome to work on their own projects. Pompi teaches Bobbin Lacemaking in the U.K and the USA. She has lectured and exhibited internationally as well as demonstrating her craft in Japan and France.
Students are expected to provide their own equipment. This can, however, be provided for beginners by prior arrangement with the tutor.
Please arrive by Noon on Saturday. Course ends with lunch on Friday.
