Clare Clensy trained on a three-year apprenticeship at the Royal School of Needlework, and has been teaching hand embroidery for more than 15 years, gaining much experience and a wealth of stitching knowledge. On this course you will learn the techniques of silk shading, enabling you to blend threads to get a natural shading effect. Using long and short stitch with just a single strand of thread. All too often people struggle to learn silk shading without guidance, but there are a few core techniques that can be applied, which make it so much more satisfying.
There will be a variety of floral designs to choose from and students can also bring their own silk shading projects along to work on. This class is suitable for beginners and experienced stitchers alike.
