Ammerdown Autumn Break
Led by: Gwyneth Evans
Please arrive by noon on Monday. Break finishes with lunch on Friday.
This week is especially designed for senior citizens looking for a break in lovely surroundings and good company. Great care is taken to devise a programme that offers something for everyone: a mixture of crafts, talks, films and entertainment, together with plenty of opportunities to rest and relax. There are also simple chapel services throughout the week, for those who wish to take part. It seems to work! Here are some of the comments from participants in previous Ammerdown Breaks: “Everything was lovely!”; “Peaceful, relaxed atmosphere, very welcoming but no pressure to do anything you don’t want to”“;I particularly valued being able to join in daily worship of a simple but meaningful kind”. (Particpant 2017)
Gwyneth Evans will be your companion for the week. She is a Quaker and a retired health care professional who has a diploma in garden history, runs a choir and sings in several others. Anna Garvie will also be here to help out. Anna is an Anglican priest and a trained spiritual director and art therapist. She retired in 2016 as a healthcare chaplain.
