The Catholic Jewish rapprochement which emerged from Vatican II is part of a profound process of transformation. It continues to inspire the radicalism of Pope Francis and is a challenge for all our faith communities in contemporary society.
This course will be led by Sr Margaret Shepherd and Jonathan Gorsky. Sr Margaret is a Sister of Sion: Director of the Sion Centre for Dialogue & Encounter: Advisor on Catholic Jewish Relations for the Catholic Bishops of England & Wales: Honorary Life Vice President of ‘The Ammerdown Centre’. Jonathan has been a Lecturer in Judaism and Jewish-Christian Relations at Heythrop College since 2008, where he was also degree convener for the BA in Abrahamic Religions. Prior to taking up this post, Jonathan also served as Education Adviser for the Council of Christians and Jews. He is an Orthodox Jewish scholar who graduated in History from Manchester University.
