Statement _ Escalation of violence in Israel and Palestinian territories

The Sisters of Sion are gravely concerned by the escalation of violence in Israel and the Palestinian territories in recent weeks, with lives lost and blood shed.  We grieve for those who have died or have been injured and for loved ones left behind. We share the palpable fear of Israel’s citizens, both Jew and Arab.  We know how much, whether within Israel, the territories or beyond in countries elsewhere, Jews and Palestinians feeling the impact of this cycle of violence.  We pray earnestly for good leadership and restraint on both sides to bring it to an end.   We continue to support and encourage all efforts for peace and coexistence.
