During the week, they presented the work done by the women religious to fight slavery and defined the network’s priorities for the period 2020 to 2025.
Sion Sister Marie Lise Adou followed the Webinair of the opening event on Saturday, September 21, as the 86 delegates were gathered for the 1st General Assembly on the occasion of the network’s 10th anniversary.

A special prize was awarded to ten sisters who distinguished themselves by their commitment and their decisive support for the development of anti-trafficking networks. Among them Sr. Eugenia Bonetti, who founded the association Slaves No More after 24 years missionary in Kenya, received an award for her contribution to making visible the work of consecrated life against trafficking through her passion and tireless commitment. She told us after receiving the award: “You represent the future of many young people who have no one to look after them, except us. We are like mothers for them; we have to give them back their lives.”
