“Nostra Aetate” explores how Sr Teresa experienced the changes that took place in the Catholic Church in the 1960s, which led to the rewriting of the NDS constitution, the sisters’ “rule of life”, in the 1980s.
The documentary is the fruit of two days of talking and filming. Olivia became fascinated by the interfaith concept that informs Notre Dame de Sion’s perspective on religious life. “Whittling what Teresa told me down to less than ten minutes has been a big challenge!” she said.
The film was shown at the Women’s Camera Collective Summer Shorts Screening in Manchester, UK, and is expected be publicly available in 2025.
