The next international meeting of Our Lady of Sion schools will take place in Jerusalem in May 2012. This follows on from the first meeting in Strasbourg in July 2009, where there were 20 schools represented from France, Canada, Turkey, UK, USA, Australia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Romania and Hungry

Delegates will arrive at Ecce Homo Convent in Jerusalem on 10th May and depart 18th May.
The days will focus on the following:
•    The meaning of our name “Sion”
•    How we as Notre Dame de Sion schools use the Scriptures
•    Fr Alphonse in Jerusalem
•    Interfaith reality in Jerusalem

The program includes wonderful guest presenters and local tour guides.  It will include excursions to wonderful places in Jerusalem, Ein Karem and Galilee.

Each College is asked to provide a school profile to publish on this International Sion website in preparation for this meeting.  Ms Karen Jebb, Principal of Our Lady of Sion College in Box Hill Australia will coordinate this information.  Each school is asked to email their details, in any language, to the following email address kjebb@sion.catholic.edu.au.  

During the days in Jerusalem, each College will be asked to share ONE event/program/innovation which has happened in the College life since the 2009 Strasbourg meeting and which gives particular expression to the Sion Charism. There will be 15 minutes to share this with the whole group.

Time will be given during the session to choose a Team to prepare the next International Schools meeting. This will take place in 2015 or 2016. We need to make suggestions as to where it will be.

This is a wonderful opportunity to deepen our international Notre Dame de Sion schools shared life. Strasbourg was a wonderful beginning and this time in Jerusalem will take us forward.

The text from Isaiah 2:4b “for out of Zion shall go forth instruction and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem” ring true for us all. Let us pray with and for each other as some from each Notre Dame de Sion school prepare to ‘come up to Jerusalem’.
