NDS STATEMENT

23/04/2015: General House - Rome

The Sisters of  Our Lady Sion would like to echo the words of Pope Francis who said: that the “continuing martyrdom  of victims from Africa to the Middle East and Asia cries out to  everyone who can still distinguish between good and evil.” We stand in solidarity with our persecuted Christian brothers and sisters who are being intimidated and murdered cruelly by  religious extremists. We call all  leaders of religious communities and nations to stand together, and unite against terrorism and  the religious extremism of those  who seek to deface  the image of  humanity made in the likeness of God. Together may we be strengthened by holding out the hand of friendship to those who may ascribe to a different faith but aspire  to a world of peace and love.
