This week we observe International Holocaust Memorial Day. A day that makes us pause and remember. We commemorate the millions of victims of Nazi Germany’s genocidal policies especially against the Jewish people at the time and during World War II.
The International remembrance is held on 27 January, the day that marks the liberation of Auschwitz. Many resources can be found online. The theme chosen this year is “Be a light in the darkness”. The services will be virtual and we are invited to join from our homes by lighting a candle in our window at 8pm in remembrance – also of all those murdered because of who they were – and as a stand against prejudice today.
